The company is also one of the earliest synthetic biology companies to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technology into enzyme engineering. As early as 2020, the company established an AI team in the UK to conduct AI-assisted enzyme design and modification. In recent years, the company has systematically deployed resources around the core elements of AI—algorithms, computing power, and data— establishing the ReAI4Bio platform. To date, it has built more than 50 AI models, applied for nearly 30 AI invention patents, built its own computing center with more than 10 supercomputing servers, a supercomputing power of 200 trillion calculations per second, a self-built protein database with more than 5.2 billion entries, and a high-quality private enzyme database with more than 300,000 entries . AI is now applied in the company’s internal R&D scenarios. Based on wet experimental data of typical industrial enzymes, combined with deep learning models, and using a combination of wet and dry datasets, the model is iteratively trained to ultimately achieve precise enzyme screening and modification.

The company boasts a research and development team of over 200 people, with more than 50% holding master’s degrees or higher. The company places great emphasis on a balance between management and technology, particularly the matching of its scientific team and industrialization expert team. Dozens of scientists, professors, doctoral supervisors, and high-level national and local talents from globally renowned pharmaceutical companies, universities, and research institutions are engaged in full-time research at the company. The industrialization expert team has over 20 years of practical experience in chemical engineering, fermentation engineering, enzyme catalysis reaction engineering, purification engineering, and plant design . This well-balanced combination of front-end and back-end talent helps the company overcome industrialization barriers more quickly.

Thanks to its excellent talent and experience reserves, Enzyme Products established a production base in Baiyin, Gansu in 2021, achieving a production capacity of ten tons of active ingredients for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. In 2022, it started construction of a smart factory in Zhuhai, which was completed and put into operation in the second half of 2023. In 2023, it started preparations for a thousand-ton-level industrial base, and in 2024, it was confirmed that the project would be located in the Wengyuan Innovation Raw Material Industrial Park in Shaoguan. The project has a total investment of approximately RMB 1.1 billion, a planned construction area of 70,000 square meters, an annual output of 1,000 tons of green active ingredients, and an annual output value of over RMB 2 billion. After the project is put into operation, it will become the largest biosynthetic GLP-1 raw material and peptide base in China .
